make docker run from users other than root

Sometimes even after installing docker from root correctly, it might not allow you to connect even though you have done this from your account:

sudo usermod -a -G Docker $USER

the error is shown below. very irritating indeed. doesn't seem to go... 

 

Got permission denied while trying to connect to the Docker daemon socket at unix:///var/run/docker.sock: Get http://%2Fvar%2Frun%2Fdocker.sock/v1.26/containers/json?all=1: dial unix /var/run/docker.sock: connect: permission denied

 

well the solution is changing permission like this... which seemed to work for me:

chmod 777 /var/run/docker.sock
