The silence of Lake Titisee

September 26, 2014

The silence of Titisee Lake

Standing on the bank, I fix my gaze at you
I feel a silence that's so deep

hidden underneath clear water
stories untold that were always there

I know you've been here for a long time
staring into empty sky and distant mountains

You never got any vent to reveal
No one ever bothered to ask how you feel

I withdraw and then fix my gaze again
on cold water gently caressed by rain

Experience of a long life - I can see
through the Transparent Top of  Lake Titisee

Everyday hundreds come here and gather
to witness your beauty in awe and wonder

Can they ever penetrate and fathom?
A silence so deep fraught with wisdom?
