If something is not your responsibility - you don't have to explain the how and why of it

June 11, 2014

It's better to ignore some people sometimes.

Often questions are asked and an immediate reply - yes or no is expected. But both yes or no entails involvement of mind, assessing the situation and then providing an appropriate answer.  Ignoring some questions sometimes is a good option - because - the requester won't approach the next time with ambiguous queries.

You are perfectly entitled to not invest your mind into something that doesn't fall in your domain of responsibility.

Its better to declare loud an clear - I am not responsible for that work and I don't know who is. In many cases the safer way is to politely turn the other person down by saying - " I am busy RIGHT now"
